Over the Weekend…
Blog friends!
Over the holiday weekend I chose not to had no time to post. I just wanted to enjoy every minute of family time, relaxing, and etcetera.
Here’s so recap pics.
My sista and her hubby stayed with us Thursday-Friday. They love our new casa. And seem to TO-TALLY relax…
Tee hee!
I made them Breks on Friday…
- homemade biscuits
- 1 topped with butter and TJs pumpkin butter
- 1 topped with scrambled egg + cheese + hot sauce
- sliced apple
- morning Coffee to straighten things out
We went to an Irish pub for lunch and a brew, and I forgot my camera.
[insert tuna pita + fresh fruit + Sierra Nevada pale ale]
They then hit the road to visit more Fam.
For exercise Erin did her very first Yoga Download from yogadownload.com. Hint. The 20-minute seshes are FREE!! Awesome. I was trembling at the end of a power core workout…even just 20minutes of it.
Hubby and I spent the night watching the latest from our Netflix queue…Revolutionary Road. Review time. If you are late 20s-early 30s, do.not watch this film. It will make you want to shoot yourself in the face just to escape how utterly depressing it is.
Bad bad bad. Good acting, horrible story line. In an effort to scrub this movie outta our heads, we watched an hour of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Did The Job!
We gobbled up some leftovers for Din…
- leftover turkey
- stuffing
- half a yam
- spoonful of baked corn
- tossed salad for some much needed greenery
I’m really happy with my portion control this holiday!!
Saddaday, Hubby and I slept way late and then hit up the local farmers market for lunch and local produce/meat. But first we started our day like this…
- leftover biscuit
- veggie patty
- eggwhite
- hot sauce
- cheese
- coffee ala red spotted mug x2
Confession. I ate a delicious buttery soft pretzel for my lunch. Worth every calorie and gram of fat!
Then we checked out a gorgeous nature preserve just 5 minutes from our house. Beautiful plank trail through wetlands and forests, all surrounding this 200+ acre preserve. Gorgey! Can’t wait to take Hilly bean there.
We watched more movies and did this…
*omg*
I think I forgot Saturday Din pics, so let’s just move on.
Sunday Breks…
- eggwhite + cheese on ww mini bagel
- nanner with dark choco PB!
- coffee
We spent the day driving around and up along the Susquehanna River. Our goal was to have lunch and brews at one of our favorite spots ever…Selins Grove Brewery!
I have pics but on a diff camera and I don’t have the upload cord. Will report back later.
We watched our beloved Steelers lose. Again.
And ate pizza!
Which I forgot to photo, lol.
- ww crust with sauce and pecorino cheese
- sauteed peppers and onions
- Applegate Farms roasted red pepper sausages
Tis a lenghty recap but I owed it to ya!
Ciao,
Erin
The Feast
Happiest of Happy Thanksgiving dear blog friends.
Hope you all have lovely days filled with carb-loaded delicious food and pie.
Speaking of pie…I forgot to eat some today. Can you imagine? Well. I hate pumpkin pie. Smooshed canned punkin smooshed into a crust? Nah. That’s gross thankyouverymuch. Now if there had been a pecan or berry pie, I’d have been all over it like a fat kid on candy. Alas, I settled for a 2nd glass of Cabernet instead!
Our celebration…
We cute…
Husband and his bro.
Is that a dog at my table??
Husband and Aunt Charlotte
Joe, Steven, Beth (cousins) and Aunt Charlotte (floral)
My sista and her new hubby!!
Cousin Joe (on right) talking football.
Aunt Charolotte, my father-in-law, my brother-in-law’s girlfriend (keeping IDs private til they tell me tis okay to blog their names).
Aunt Susie doing something with the turkey.
Aunt Susie and Jack’s beautiful China!
My plate…
- white meat turkey
- broccoli
- mushrooms
- mashed taters
- stuffing
- oyster casserole
- baked corn casserole
I ate this all, slowly, trying to listen to my “full point” in the tumz. I listened and didn’t go back for 2nds! And forgot pie (see above).
What is Erin thankful for this year? Heaps of stuff! Family. New friends. Old friends. Support. My dog. A new job. A new home in a new not so new state. Farmers markets. Good coffee every morning. Shit that makes me laugh.
Last night was BUSY doing some prep work for today, namely making candied pecans to take to today’s Thanksgiving at our aunt’s home…
and oatmeal scotchies cookies for my father-in-law’s birthday present…
The in-laws were also here for dinner, so I threw together a totally kickass strata from stuff we had at home!
- eggs
- day-old baguette, sliced
- sliced tomato
- garlic
- pecorino + parmeasan cheese
- milk
- bake at 350 for nearly an hour
- served with salad on the side
- and a glass of Ecologica Chardonnay (FAIR TRADE and organic!!!)
Happy days to y’all!
xoxo
Erin
You Know You’re Not in Shape…
LOL. You know you’re not in the best shape when the Vinyasa yoga you did three days ago is STILL kicking your ass. I can barely get up from my chair without every ab, glute, and hamstring muscle moaning in agony.
I mean. It’s good. But it hurts like a mo fo.
In an effort to loosen up the old lady fat muscles last night, I checked out our new gym. Twas the only chica in there and enjoyed the solidarity. Just me, a treadmill, and a re-run of Seinfeld the greatest show on earth.
Guess who ran 2 miles?
<————–this girl!
I’ve mentioned before that I’m NOT a runner. Like. Really. Not. Not at all.
Breks today.
Since my cell phone battery alarm clock died in the middle of the night, I was mucho lucky that I awoke at 7:40am. I hopped my scootch outta bed and zipped thru my morning in order to get to work by 8:30am.
Quick obligatory breakfast shot…
- ww mini bagel
- eggwhites
- hot sauce
- American cheese
- COFFEE a plenty a go go
Have I mentioned that its been raining in PA every damn day this week? I like to think I have some sort of threatening powers such that when I Declare That There Will Be Hell To Pay if it doesn’t stop raining, that this declaration actually has some meaning in real life.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I feel badly for all the turkeys. I wish our Thanksgivings were vegetarian based, probably much like the REAL one was oh so many years ago.
Swenyway. Before Erin goes Off On Her Soapbox.
Din last night…
- chicken + apple sausage from the farmer’s market where yours truly has found local, vegetarian, humanely-raised chicken
- maple glazed butternut squash + sweet potato
The squash and sweet potato stole the show!
Will your Thanksgiving include turkey or not so much?
Whatever your story, I wish you a happy day!
Who Am I Kidding?
Exactly who do I think I am, that I can pull of yoga pants and a yoga tank of a 10lbs-lighter-Erin?
Srsly Erin. As warped as your inflated self-image is, you Do Not Look Like This.

Let’s just all say a prayer of thanks that I decided to practice my Vinyasa at home last night instead of, say, at a studio where there Are People Who Can See Me.
The tummy was out and my wobbly bits were wobbling. Thank god I’m married b/c last night’s little show woulda turned off the most desperate of dudes.
This is Erin wondering what the f#uck happened to all that weight I lost.
Oh here. Here it is!
Thunder thighs.
Let’s have a look at food instead of thighs.
Breks.
- ww mini bagel
- eggwhite with hawt sauce
- American cheese
- COFFEE
Din for people trying to get skinnier…
- kale + peppers + onions + mushrooms + leftover london broil stir fry
- garnished with peanuts and hot pepper flakes
- water to drink
Here’s a girl that gets plenty of movement…
I just coughed and my ab muscles hurt like woah. At least that’s a sign there’s a ray of light at the end of this fat tunnel.
