Pets Welcome?

So, I’m quickly discovering it ain’t easy finding a lovely B&B, tucked up in the mountains of New England, that will accept us AND our little dog.

:(

The fun news is that the hubz and I are planning our vacation this weekend.  We’re doing a road trip thru New England!!!  Neither of us has done that since we were kids, and we’ve been all over the dang place, so this will be a fun, nearby (ish) vaca!

Does anyone have any good tips for travel resources for crazies like us that want to bring the dog along?

Hey, what is that I spy?

SUNSHINE!!!!!!!!

Erin was mucho mucho delighted to have a day so lovely as this to sit outside for lunch!  My camera just died and I can’t upload my lunch pic, but I had

On Treehugger Plate…

  • carrots
  • kiwi
  • smashed black bean burger on whole grains with ketchup, mustard, lettuce
  • 10 mini vanilla meringues (not photo’d)

With the crew…

Look at this pic of painted turtles my friend Herb took.  From our property here at work.  Nice.

Breks today was great!  Eggwhites with multicolored peppers, onions, & spinach, half a piece of American cheese, all slapped down on a whole wheat mini bagel.  Eaten in the car as usual.

What’s everyone up to tonight?

Plans tonight are dinner out somewhere, I think at a new BBQ joint and then another hockey game!

I do like Barney Butter! Just the crunchy stuff though, I think it’s an acquired taste - it took me a while but now I crave it!

I LOVE that plate!!!! So cute!

Sorry you are having trouble finding dog friendly places - I feel your plight! Lando goes with us every where, and sometimes its a MAJOR ordeal to find somewhere that will let the sweet little peanut in! :)

I’m lucky enough to usually be able to leave my pooch with my parents when Ryan and I go on vacation. Irving, my dog, loves to stay with his grandma and BFF Daisy, but this year we are talking about going to the beach, and I want to take him with us. I’m not having any luck finding accommodations that accept pets either so I’ve got no advice there :( I know some of the larger chain motels do accept pets, but usually places like B&Bs or rental condos don’t… at least that’s what I’m finding. Booo!

Tonight’s plans: nothing. It’s going to be a busy weekend so I’m going to enjoy doing nothing tonight. Maybe I’ll make myself do some laundry…

Those turtles are adorable. Sunning themselves like the cool cats they are.

Tonight: Going to possibly get a free crib, changing table and bassinet. Then Billy is going out for drinks with friends and I’m going to start my new book. Can’t wait!

You can try DogFriendly.com. It’s a site with lots of travel resources for places that are, well, dog friendly. LOL

Everytime I look at your food I drool. And I don’t even like egg whites.

Aw why all the pet hate New England?! Some pets are better behaved than some people!

    I love the turtles!!

I’m totally jealous of your lunch crew - wish I could join you guys!

I haven’t played along with the yoda contest yet, but I think I might spy him in your first breakfast picture on top of the fridge (not sure though).

Just thought I would give it a shot!

Maybe try looking for a place that rents little cottages, instead of rooms? I found a few places when trying to plan a trip to the Finger Lakes that would accept pets that way.

    Your breakfast looks awesome.

    Ashley says:

… is yoda in these pics?? I can’t find him! Oh, the torture!!! Is he in the bagel? Because that wouldn’t be fair :-P

Good luck finding a place for your getaway. It will be so nice to be away from home and take some time off!

Also - the agar agar jelly is one cup of liquid (made up of whatever jelly flavour you want) to 1 teaspoon of agar agar powder. Agar agar is a vegetable substitute for gelatin. Its derived from seaweed and is high in fibre. Give it a try!

Mmm - breks looks yummy as usual! I wish I was having that as “fuel” before my big walk today…. but gotta supports the hubs at his pancake fundraiser. Make mine blueberry! :)

Those turtles totally make me smile.

I know I’ve heard about dog friendly B&Bs here in NH… let me think about it & get back to you.
