These crazy kids
OMGosh, these kids on HGTV’s Property Virgin show. They are so stupid. Does anyone watch this show? Ok. When first-time homeowners are looking for a house, here are some tips…
- paint colors don’t matter
- cupboard style doesn’t matter
- kitchen color doesn’t matter
- if the lawn is mowed doesn’t matter
- interior decor doesn’t matter
LOL. No wonder this is a tv show. And hey, where in this country can you buy a single family home for $152K??? Cuz I don’t believe it.
Just finished Din, which was Erin-solo-style cuz Hubz is politicking tonight. Ginorm salad with chicken and oh so good and simple.

- spinach/green leaf salad + chicken + Organic Valley cheddar + cashews + snow peas + carrot + maters + cukes + Goddess dressing
- whole grain bread with Organic Valley sweet cream butter (from happy cows)
- vino
- 3 camera shy pieces of dark choco to round things out
I think this is the 1st time I feel stuffed from a salad! So clearly it was a little too big. But dang was it good. The chicken was leftover from the bbq at Dad’s house Sunday. Mmmm…
I did 2.5 miles at the gym today, and ew, look how flarking sweaty I am. I guess I pushed hard! Also did leg weights and crunches.

I napped (so not me) from 4-5pm, but it was kinda fun to zone in and out to Oprah and the ever-so-annoying Suze Orman.
Spent the arvo working on emails and blog stuff. Lunch included a new product review…Musselman’s Red Raspberry & Acai Healthy Picks applesauce.

It was very tasty with just the subtlest raspberry flava. And the no sugar added made it taste very clean, just like applesauce should taste! I think this would be great added in to oatmeal or oatmeal pancakes! I do wish the raspberry would have been more powerful, so maybe Musselman’s can figure out a way to do that! What’s cool is that Mussleman’s is a Grower owned co-op, around for the last 60 years. And being a PA native, I totally support this co-op, as I grew up only 45 minutes from their apple orchards!
The rest of lunch…

- whole grain bread with leftover coconut pork + spinach + tomato
- last remains of the fruit salad
- Musselmans Red Raspberry Acai applesauce
And now it’s time to ice my shins and continue being judgey and snarky about these dumb Property Virgin kids.
Nite!
*running out the door*
Ah, I am in SUCH a rush. This will be short on text. We’re minutes from heading out the door for a weekend-of-family. First stop…Pittsburgh for the in-laws then back home to Hanover, PA to visit Dad and his wife. It’ll be hectic but fun cuz we (luckily) both really like our families and in-laws!
Lunch was great. I ate it while watching tivo’d epis of Real Housewives of NJ. Um. I’m kinda hooked. Total trash tv that is fun for summertime relaxing.

- ginorm salad ala Erin (this means it has goat cheese)
- last remnants of bbq chicken + white beans on whole grain bread
I’ve spent the day exploring ways to find an additional source of income. I’m a gov’t employee, and today was my first of who-knows-how-many-are-to-come furlough days. This is a day where I don’t go to work and DON’T get paid either. It’s an “effort” to trim NJ’s state budget. It’s beyond laughable. We’re $2.3 billion in the hole and today’s furlough is saving the state $8mil. It’s peanuts, yet us middle class workers suffer.
*steps off soapbox only due to lack of time to rant*
Breks was AMAZING! We’re out of fruit b/c we’re going away for the weekend. But I remembered I had frozen peaches. Introducing waffles with buttery peaches!

- Nature’s Path red berry waffles + peaches sauteed in a little butter and honey
- coffee
Hey, this knocked my proverbial socks off. Totally amazing and a keeper for my recipe book. Since I slept 9 hours (wee!!) I didn’t need much coffee.
Last night we had turkey fajitas. I ended up sauteeing portabellas, white beans, corn, peppers, onions, and turkey all together, and topping with avocado and spinach. It was good but woulda been better sans turkey. I’ve discovered I don’t like ground turkey!

But to make up for it, I got to sample some of Mallory’s AMAZING FANTASTIC nut butter cups. I won these from the Auction/Bake Sale I hosted. Srsly, girl. Sell these IRL b/c they are so flipping good.

Sorry so short, but I promise to blog from the road.
Ciao!!
Er
Dinner and dog
It’s late, so this is gonna be short.
Din was great! Dessert was fab-u-lusssss!!

- Cashew ginger carrot soup with turkey, navy beans, and mixed veggies (crockpot)
- Whole grain bread
I also added about 1 cup fresh spinach to my soup. The hubs didn’t. While I woulda liked to eat all that bread, I was a good girl and split it with the hubs.

- smidge square of Cooking Light’s butterscotch bar
- hefty spoonful of PB & Co. dark choco PB crack
Exercise tonight was 20 mins heavy hiking and 20 mins shoulder/bicep work.
The hubs and I were so happy that FRINGE is back on FOX. We’ve been missing it for WEEKS!
Watching telly with the dog…

The husband is in a huff b.c he can’t find some dumb paper. I gotta go smooth his ruffled feathers. Such the dramz.
Nite!
How I spend 1 hour of my day
Catching up on blogs, reading the news, checking in with another message board I’m on, and eating lunch!
Today’s lunch was good and definitely a fun way to mix up my typical lunch routine of a sammy, fruit, and veg.

On Mr. Stripey…
- whole wheat wrap filled with a faux chicken patty, Sabra hummus, tomato, spinach, lettuce
- green grapes
- leftover hunk of Wegmans potato pancake (so good)
Adding the hummus to the wrap made all the difference. I’m a big fan of flavor. The more the better!
I also had a row of sqaures of Green & Black’s Espresso Dark Chocolate bar. It was way more than I needed, and I realized too late that I was mindlessly munching on it (no photos, hence the mindless part). Let’s not do that again tomorrow Er.
Back to works.
