Just For Me
Happy Sunday evening blog peeps.
I’m trying to wrap up this evening and realized I hadn’t posted Saturday blog life schtuff.
If you recall, I had the day to myself cuz Hubz was out of town. I did a lot of blog reading and commenting, which was a fun indulgence for me. If I missed your blog, post a comment on this post so I can find you in blog world!
I considered watching a movie, and decided to fully indulge in 5 epis of SATC (Sex and the City) DVDs instead since Hubz hates it and I had the house to myself.
Speaking of indulging…
I combined some of my favorite things in the culinary world, for dinner Saturday.
Pizza.
Goat cheese.
Pesto.
HoppyAss India Pale Ale.
!Voila!
Whole wheat Boboli crust topped with pesto + goat cheese + NJ farmers market tomato
With a lovely spinach side salad and a Smuttynose IPA (as y’all know, one of my favs). In the spirit oh honesty, I had 2 more of those naughty fellas thru the evening. And a little advil before bed never hurt anyone. Just sayin.
The full body shot.
During the afternoon, I did…
- a trip to Michaels to get prize gifts for guests that play the “game” at my sister’s wedding shower
- a trip to Target for some snacks for visitors this weekend and next weekend
- pick up dry cleaning
- grocery shopping
When I got home at 4:30pm, I realized I had NOT eaten lunch. Wha???
As I unpacked all my bags from the afternoon shopping, I blended up a strawberry peach smoothie and enjoyed it in my new smoothie cup. It’s fabulous, right?
Jungle feva…
The bldg we live in offers continental bfast 6 days a week, so Saturday a.m. I ran down to the Club Room and grabbed half a bagel and some crumb cake for Hubz. It did the trick of getting him out of bed!
I fried up some eggwhites and peppers and spinach and spooned it onto the bottom half of that bagel. Topped with some chz and HOT sauce and the other half of the bagel. Adorned on the side by a small handful of cheeries (heh!) and COFFEE!
I mean, honestly, does it get any tastier than that?
So, I gotta wrap up the evening and figure out how to get my brain ready for going back to work Monday. What are your Sunday evening tricks for getting back in the groove?
How Could I Leave This?
Aw. Can everyone see how hard it is for me to leave this gal at home each day, when I have to go to work? She’s silently praying to the door gods to open the blinds for her to see the morning light.
Once she abandons the door gods, she then turns to Mommy and Daddy to help a gal out.
This is what I had to say goodbye to this morning. I mean, are you flarking kidding me???
I think I’m meant to be a stay-at-home Doggy Mommy. Is that a job?
Dinner was Erin fabu with a ginorm salad, toasted bread, and fresh farmers market corn!
The salad =
- green leaf lettuce
- spinach
- cuke
- maters
- carrot
- peanuts
- apple crisp Dr. Krackers
- GOAT CHEESE
- tossed in rasp walnut vingrt.
This cutie kept me chewing for at least 20 minutes. How fun is that?
Ok, I have to take a break for a moment and let you know that I switched it up tonight and am enjoying a glass of Italian Pinot Grigio. And every time I shove my nose into the glass for a whiff, it smells likes diapers. What is THAT about?
Exercise = assorted arm work and ab work that I won’t bore you with. Took about 30 minutes.
Thursday Farmers Market Loot.
- 2 Jersey maters
- 4 ears corn

Lunch in da cube farm.
The norm = a sam + carrot + cherries. Bored? I am.
That’s some fierce Artisan macadamia nut butter up there. Fierce and fab all in one lovely package!
Breks was a strawberry banana smoothie that was great. I especially like the polar bear side dish.
Ok, I gotta jet and watch SYTYCD results b/c I’m way overly invested in this show.

Sustainable Seafood
Good Thursday morning Blog peeps!
In my IWITW efforts to continue to spread true and verifiable information about Ethical Eating, I wanted to quickly share some tips with y’all about which seafood you should be eating, assuming you’re not a vegetarian, if you are pursuing an ethical and sustainable eating lifestyle.
Tara Parker-Pope has a quickie blog post over at the NY Times about Choosing Safer, Sustainable Seafood. For more in depth info, please please PLEASE go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch website where you can read more of the science AND print a super cute wallet-sized card that says which fish to eat and which to avoid. I carry mine in my wallet and pull it out when dining at seafood restaurants or when shopping for fresh fish!

So, on to Wednesday food stuff…
Din last night was a ginorm salad with bread. I have to be honest. In thinking up dinner, I was totally crafting my plans around how to have those 2 giant slices of whole grain toast on the side. I am such a bread lovah, it’s ridic.
- spinach + green leaf lettuce salad with…
- 1 small free range chicken breast tender (about 2.5 oz)
- maters
- cukes
- carrot
- peanuts
- goat cheese
- 4 hummus flava’d Dr. Krackers
- honey dijon dressing
- I also had those 2 fabulous pieces of toast with buttah
- and a generous pour of a New Zealand Sauv Blanc
I thought up this meal while sitting in Court last night! Ugh. Evening court. Can you imagine? Eleven billionty people with traffic tickets all trying to get their points reduced. Luckily, since I was there to testify in a case for the State, they bumped me up. I was only there a little over an hour. The case didn’t go to trial b/c the defendant decided to plead guilty (yay), accept the points against his license, and pay his fine.
So when I got home a sprinted to the gym and did a 20 minute run plus some leg & ab work.
- leg press at 55lbs xs 3 reps
- leg extensions at 25lbs x 3 reps
- innner/outer thigh extensions at 40 & 50lbs x 3 reps
- 100 various ab exercises
Lunch at work was hurried, eaten in my cube, b/c I’m buried with work.
- Applegate Farms ham + cheddar + green lettuce + dijon on whole grain panini
- carrot with garlic hummus
- no sugar added applesauce
- cantalope
- water
- a camera shy handful of peanuts
WORK Here!
Breks was normal, a berry smoothie in a cute pint glass.
- handful frozen mango
- handful frozen black raspberries
- half a banana
- half cup lf vanilla almond milk
- 2 T ff vanilla yogurt
- 4 ice cubes
Question. Do you eat seafood? Do you pay attention to the sustainable nature of the fish you choose?
Maybe This Will Work?
Since I have zero appetito, I thought I’d give it a boost by making a pizza, my fav food.
Din.
- whole wheat crust
- pesto
- goat cheese
- spinach
- fresh Jersey tomatoes
- salad on the side with homemade honey dijon dressing
Well. I ate! All that salad and 2 slices of pizza.
Normally I’d eat WAY more than that tho. So…whatever…the heck is going on…???
I did 20mins Level 10 on the elliptical plus tricep extensions, chair dips, curls, shoulder press, should extensions, etc.
Lunch at work was grizzly great.
- veggie sausage with avocado/LC cheese smash, on whole wheat
- carrot + cuke with garlic hummus
- blueberries
- sour cream and onion Popchips that I thought were fantastic!
I was a bizzy bee today at work….but I don’t like to talk about work. I like to leave work at work, ya know.
Breks was one of yesterday’s whole wheat blueberry muffins which was fab-u-luss.
Oh sweet lord are these good!
I gotta say, I’m not in love with any of this year’s SYTYCD dancers. I think I was spoiled by Josh, Katie, and Twitch last year. I’m just not connecting with any of them. What about you guys?
