Driving Miss Hillary
Oh
My
God.
Last night, we had a new game with Hillary. Called Driving Miss Hillary. Husband scoots around on his butt across our wood floors with Hillary “driving” where they go.
You.will.die.laughing…
Scoot da hiney…
“Driving” came complete with vroom vroom noises…
Be sure to notice her paws…“driving”!!
I know. We are totally off our rockers.
Dinner last night was of the celebratory kind…a birthday dinner out for my uncle-in-law. I started out with a glass of Cavit Pinot Grigio…pretty good!
And a teeny plate of appetizers…a few scallops, 1 steamed mussel, and three of Hubz’ sweet tater fries with carmelized Fluff (marshmallow). Holy shit was this good!
Dinner minus the hot sausage and lite on the cheese!
I ate 3 slices.
This pizza was great. I think it was brick oven because the crust was perfect. And the spicy tomato sauce was a fantastic addition.
And on my drive home from work last night, I wanted to brag by showing you my view!
Plus Erin bangin out the lyrics to Watchya Say.
♪♪♪Watchya Say-yayyy♪♪♪
Hubz told me not to post that 2nd picture b/c it looks like I have vomit-face. Dude. That’s called Bangin Out Da Tunes. Get wid it.
Ciao,

Godfather
1st, I want to thx you guys for your kind words yesterday.
*Care Bear hug*
Hubz and I finally finished watching The Godfather Part 2 last night. Woah. Talk about subtle powerful acting! It’s hard to beat old skool Al Pacino AND Robert DeNiro. I may or may not have had 1 too many glasses of a fabulous New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. When it’s midnight, the rule of thumb should be to put the glass DOWN Erin.
I got a little distracted…

Din last night was a quickie but GOOD. Boboli whole wheat pizza crust topped with goodies:

- whole wheat pizza topped with fresh Asiago + shitake mushrooms + onion + mixed bell peppers + red pepper flakes
- small spinach salad with Annie’s sesame ginger dressing and 2 hummus flava’d Dr. Krackers
I ate what you see + 2 more small slices. Thank goodness I ate all those carbs to soak up the plethora of white wine that accompanied it, lol.
The town next door to mine just started a Thursday Farmers Market, which initially annoyed the krap outta me b/c it’s from 11am-6pm. But then I got over my bad self and decided to zip outta work yesterday right at 5pm. Got to the market around 5:40pm with just enough time to browse the new set up of vendors. I chit you not when I say there was a vendor selling nothing but giant vats of pickles! It rocked. I’ll snap a pic next time.
My loot.

For $20, I got:
- 3 red potatoes
- 3 local peaches
- 1 orange cauliflower (what’s up with that?)
- 1 giant cuke
- 1 small zucchini
- 1 quart of local shitake mushrooms
- 1 package of local, free range chicken sausage of the sundried tomato + basil variety
Spent some QT with Nature in the afta noon.

Can anyone spy the teeny TINY toad in this picture????

Lunch.

- Grilled Applegate Farms ham & American cheese
- sliced and diced carrot
- Stonyfield Farms OIKOS with half a PB GNU bar
Yesterday work was a smidge slow b/c a lot of people were out. But I got to have some nice chats with my cube-mate Erika. I keep trying to snap covert pics of her for the blog, but she’s a smartie and keeps dodging me.
Breks was a simple banana raspberry smoothie.

- whole
- half a cup of black raspberries
- 2 T ff vanilla yogurt
- 5 cubes ice
- half a cup vanilla almond milk
Blend and voila! Lovely breakfast fruitie smoothie!
We just dropped Hillary off for a grooming appt, and I can’t wait to see how cute she is when she’s done! I’ll post pics lata. And once I get my new hair cut all diddied, I’ll have Hubz snap a pic to post lata today.
And if the sun comes out, you can find me at the pool lata.
Ciao!

Vaca anniversary style
Hi bloggy friends.
Thx a mil for all your lovely anniversary wishes! Means a lot to me. *muah*
Sunday (our anniversary) was a great RELAXING day. We decided to have a totally low key day since our lives are always go-go-gadget-arms (bonus points for peeps old enough to remember what cartoon that’s from).
We spent the morning relaxing over a leisurely breakfast with Harbor views.

I had eggs + salmon with toasted sourdough, fresh fruit, New England potatoes (ate 5). Then I went back for 1 mini blueberry pancake (Maine specialty) + a blueberry muffin (ate half) + homemade yogurt and granola. This was an amazingly full breks but sometimes you just have to enjoy what life offers. And my anniversary offered a BIG breks.
After breks we did some respective computer work (blog important stuff for me…stay tuned for a visit to Stonyfield Farms coming up!) and then went for a lovely walk into Bar Harbor. Stopped at the Bar Harbor Brewery to sample a few beers. That was fun, duh.
Hubz did some impulse shopping and we had to take his loot back to our Inn before back into town for lunch. We had our fill of seafood, so I went with the beet salad (plus goat cheese, Niman Ranch chicken, and herbed olive oil) and a spicy pale ale.

After lunch we window shopped and browsed thru the SUPER cute art galleries and artisan shops in town. We ended up at Cadillac Mtn Sporting Goods where I bought these super fabulous, no-blisters-causing, supporting-your-feet miracle sandals. I already have hiking Chacos, but when I saw these flips, I turned a blind eye to the price and dove on in.
After more shopping and some afternoon ice cream, we walked back to the Inn where I suited up the doggy and went for a run on the Harbor hiking trail. Hillary was a reluctant companion. I guess terriers aren’t natural runners? I jest of course. Her short stocky legs barely clear the pavement as is. But I’m a stubborn lass. I figure if my short Irish legs can run, so can hers.
We had anniversary cocktails on the Inn porch before heading off to dinner. Mine was a Greyhound martini (grapefruit + vodka). LOL, why do I look 3-sheets to the wind in this pic? I’ve only had 2 sips so far!

Anniv din was had at a local place overlooking the harbor. A bit swank, but nothing too beyond. I had the scallops and smoked harbor shrimp. It was just ok. I have come to realize that much of New England (vacation) fare is average. Plain and simple. Ain’t got nothin on kick ass Jersey food or the marvelous eats I’m familiar with in the South.

We had a wonderful and loving anniversary and I still feel like a lucky lucky gal to have married this dude.

Ciao for now peeps.

Lots of Brew Pubs
Methinks our anniversary vacation coming up is going to be rife with stops at New England Brew Pubs! And I cannot wait!
Hubz and I spent all of late morning planning our stops along our driving tour of New England.

We found small farms that make local cheese and maple syrup in VT and NH and have plans to stop and see a few. But most importantly, we found eleven billionty brew pubs to sample!! They.Are.Everywhere up there. It’s going to be so fun.

The reason we spent LATE morning planning our trip is b/c Erin slept in til, oh, 10am. Whhhaaaattt? I’ll just thank Ambien and be on my way. It was amazing. I now think getting up early on weekends is over-rated. I seriously haven’t slept in that late since the last time I had the flu. Finally Hubz came in and asked if I was thinking I’d get up at any point today, lol. It felt great!
I made the loveliest of quick Breks since it was getting so late.

- whole wheat muffin + Nutella + banana
- peaches + red raspberries + blackberries
- COFFEE xs 2
Oh Nutella….how I love thee.
Last night, after Din, Hubz and I watched Changeling with Angelina Jolie and John Malkovich. A very dark dark film. Worth watching if you have 2hrs + though. I had a beer and baked Kettle chips for a snack (no pic). And in being totally honest, 1 of Mallorys butterscotch nut butter cups (the BEST flava).
Din was tandori chicken (homemade) using Penzey’s tandori spice + ff Fage yogurt. It was good. Not great though. I gotta figure out a way to make this taste like REAL tandori.

- homemade tandori chicken + lentils
- half a piece of ww Naan
- steamed broccoli
- Smuttynose beer
Pre-Din I had a Smuttynose IPA, which is 1 of my absolute favs. I think Matt at Brew and Bake would probably really like this beer, given his review of other beers!

And a little after-work yoga to unwind and stretch out some sore running muscles. This totally did the trick. I felt heaps better after.

Hillary helped with some Lazy Dogs.

Hubz helped by doing some Lazy Man Reading.

K, I gotta eat lunch and head out to pick up some items for our dinner tonight. Having friends over for Din to sample one of my favorite recipes. Should be fun!
