Today is 1 day closer to the end of the week.
*does a cartwheel*
My work is slowly driving me insane. Just this week though. I cannot wait for Funday Friday to arrive. And I don’t even really have plans. Maybe just some sunning by the pool!
Din last night was simple but very good.

- Supreme grillers (turkey sausage with hot peppers) with mushrooms & onions from Pounds Turkey Farm outside Pittsburgh, PA
- baked yam
- steamed broccoli & peas in a soft cheese sauce (lite)
- water
I snuck in a 4K run between walking the Hilly dog and making dinner. Felt good. Actually, I am MEGA EXCITED I ran that far. First time in many a year!!!!
My ankle just sucks forever until infinity I’m guessing. I don’t think it’s ever gonna heal.
[Work happened here, from 12:30pm-5pm.] A little pretty from my walk in Nature for your enjoyment.

Lunch.

- babied carrots
- melon balls and a few slivers of mango

Giveaway winner
Ahhh…the suspense.
- First you must baby me for still being mega sick.
- Second you must read my eats for Wednesday.
- Third you must tell me who your favorite of the crazies on Housewives of NJ is.
And only then, young grasshoppers, are you allowed to see who won the VT Maple Peanut Butter!!!
Last night’s dinner was total comfort food. It’s weird. When I’m sick, I’m craving carbs. Must be my body telling me it needs fuel. Hubz dished up my plate and told me to eat the whole thing. I didn’t argue!

- baked rotini
- romaine + spinach salad
- water
We ate this and watched SYTYCD. I am so in love with this year’s dancers. SO talented. Way more talented than the drivel on American Idol.
Yesterday I didn’t do much. Mostly laid on the bed, blowed my nose, and cuddled with my dog. I watched ohsomany epis of Sex and the City. This is the dvd equivalent of comfort food. Comfort tv.
Lunch was more soup. I managed to get some veg in there with carrots from the farmers market. And a few fire roasted Dr. Krackers. I watched the finale of Real Housewives of NJ. Woah. Dey some crizAZY b’s. I totally hope they do a 2nd season.

The morning was quiet. Just tryin to get healthy.
Breks…

- half a ww english muffin with eggwhites and peppers + LC cheese + hot sauce
- berry smoothie with Stonyfield ff yogurt, half a banana, half a cup of cranberry juice, half a cup of frozen berries, 1/4 cup of fresh blueberries
- lobster coffee
I’m now wishing I had brought home more than 1 extra jar of the peanut butter for the GIVEAWAY. There’ve been 100+ entries and I wish I could give you all this jar of deliciousness!!
*drumrolllllllllll*
And the winner of the VT Maple Peanut Butter GIVEAWAY is!!!
Anne from Harping on Fitness!
Congrats girl. Email me your mailing information.
Yesterday’s throat is today’s sinuses
Shit. I just *knew* this bug was gonna shift on up outta my throat into my head. That’s always how mine go. Bastards. Good news is the throat is no longer on fire. Bad news is that my head shall be exploding from the sinus pressure any.minute.now.
More good news is that I am stocked up on ice cream and mango sorbet for future smoothies and cool things to drink and eat.
More bad news is that I am on day 3 of missing work. I am thinking I’ll be out of sick days very soon.
Oh. Don’t forget to enter my Maple Peanut Butter Giveaway! I announce the winner on Thursday.
Tuesday eats. You already saw my Breks smoothie. Between Breks and Lunch all I did was mess around on the internet and lay in the recliner. I think I may have thrown those dirty dog sheets into the laundry. Poor Hillary. She loved them so. She had to find something else to lay on.

Lunch was mushroom barley soup (homemade and great) + a not-so-girnorm salad drizzled with the last of my ff green goddess yogurt dressing. I’ll have to whip up something new to try on my next batch of salads. Oh, and I don’t know that I’ve ever actually eaten barley before, but it is wonderful in soup. Chunky and chewy. Great sick food.

- mushroom barley soup
- spinach + romaine + cuke + carrot + maters + chunks of Organic Valley cheddar + hard boiled Organic Valley egg + 5 fire roasted Dr. Krackers + peanuts + pepper + remnants of the ff green goddess yogurt dressing
- water
Between Lunch and Din I had another smoothie.

- pb + chocolate soy milk + ice + ff yogurt
This was cold, but only meh tasting.
I further layed in the recliner, layed on the couch, took a nap on the couch, took Hillary out for her evening walk, got sorbet and fruit at the grocery store (and oreos!) which is ok cuz it’s literally 30 secs from my house. But when I got home I was exhausted and feeling feverish. Took my temp and yep, had a fever
. Here’s to hoping its leaving my body soon.
Din was comfort food inspired by my friend Allison’s sick comfort food suggestion.

- Annie’s whole wheat shells and cheese
- steamed green peas
- a real Coke with ice (1st one in YEARS)
- camera shy small dish of coffee ice cream
- 5 oreos (I know this is junk food and I don’t care)
Apparently I discovered that sugar is my comfort food this evening. Holy sugar shock batman. Where did THIS come from? I am normally such a salt lovah. My body is whacked out right now.
I hope y’all are healthy!
Happy Humpday.

*running out the door*
Ah, I am in SUCH a rush. This will be short on text. We’re minutes from heading out the door for a weekend-of-family. First stop…Pittsburgh for the in-laws then back home to Hanover, PA to visit Dad and his wife. It’ll be hectic but fun cuz we (luckily) both really like our families and in-laws!
Lunch was great. I ate it while watching tivo’d epis of Real Housewives of NJ. Um. I’m kinda hooked. Total trash tv that is fun for summertime relaxing.

- ginorm salad ala Erin (this means it has goat cheese)
- last remnants of bbq chicken + white beans on whole grain bread
I’ve spent the day exploring ways to find an additional source of income. I’m a gov’t employee, and today was my first of who-knows-how-many-are-to-come furlough days. This is a day where I don’t go to work and DON’T get paid either. It’s an “effort” to trim NJ’s state budget. It’s beyond laughable. We’re $2.3 billion in the hole and today’s furlough is saving the state $8mil. It’s peanuts, yet us middle class workers suffer.
*steps off soapbox only due to lack of time to rant*
Breks was AMAZING! We’re out of fruit b/c we’re going away for the weekend. But I remembered I had frozen peaches. Introducing waffles with buttery peaches!

- Nature’s Path red berry waffles + peaches sauteed in a little butter and honey
- coffee
Hey, this knocked my proverbial socks off. Totally amazing and a keeper for my recipe book. Since I slept 9 hours (wee!!) I didn’t need much coffee.
Last night we had turkey fajitas. I ended up sauteeing portabellas, white beans, corn, peppers, onions, and turkey all together, and topping with avocado and spinach. It was good but woulda been better sans turkey. I’ve discovered I don’t like ground turkey!

But to make up for it, I got to sample some of Mallory’s AMAZING FANTASTIC nut butter cups. I won these from the Auction/Bake Sale I hosted. Srsly, girl. Sell these IRL b/c they are so flipping good.

Sorry so short, but I promise to blog from the road.
Ciao!!
