These crazy kids
OMGosh, these kids on HGTV’s Property Virgin show. They are so stupid. Does anyone watch this show? Ok. When first-time homeowners are looking for a house, here are some tips…
- paint colors don’t matter
- cupboard style doesn’t matter
- kitchen color doesn’t matter
- if the lawn is mowed doesn’t matter
- interior decor doesn’t matter
LOL. No wonder this is a tv show. And hey, where in this country can you buy a single family home for $152K??? Cuz I don’t believe it.
Just finished Din, which was Erin-solo-style cuz Hubz is politicking tonight. Ginorm salad with chicken and oh so good and simple.

- spinach/green leaf salad + chicken + Organic Valley cheddar + cashews + snow peas + carrot + maters + cukes + Goddess dressing
- whole grain bread with Organic Valley sweet cream butter (from happy cows)
- vino
- 3 camera shy pieces of dark choco to round things out
I think this is the 1st time I feel stuffed from a salad! So clearly it was a little too big. But dang was it good. The chicken was leftover from the bbq at Dad’s house Sunday. Mmmm…
I did 2.5 miles at the gym today, and ew, look how flarking sweaty I am. I guess I pushed hard! Also did leg weights and crunches.

I napped (so not me) from 4-5pm, but it was kinda fun to zone in and out to Oprah and the ever-so-annoying Suze Orman.
Spent the arvo working on emails and blog stuff. Lunch included a new product review…Musselman’s Red Raspberry & Acai Healthy Picks applesauce.

It was very tasty with just the subtlest raspberry flava. And the no sugar added made it taste very clean, just like applesauce should taste! I think this would be great added in to oatmeal or oatmeal pancakes! I do wish the raspberry would have been more powerful, so maybe Musselman’s can figure out a way to do that! What’s cool is that Mussleman’s is a Grower owned co-op, around for the last 60 years. And being a PA native, I totally support this co-op, as I grew up only 45 minutes from their apple orchards!
The rest of lunch…

- whole grain bread with leftover coconut pork + spinach + tomato
- last remains of the fruit salad
- Musselmans Red Raspberry Acai applesauce
And now it’s time to ice my shins and continue being judgey and snarky about these dumb Property Virgin kids.
Nite!
Are you serious
British court rules yes, Pringles are in fact chips.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30850499/?GT1=43001
I mean, are you effing serious? THIS is what’s getting debated in the courts? For you Pringles fans, take note…
“A lower court had decided Pringles weren’t chips and would remain exempt from tax. But the higher court judges disagreed. They said the snack contains “more than enough potato content” to be considered a chip.”
My question for you is…what the flark is IN there if not potato?
Do I need to reexamine my secret love of fat free sour cream & onion Pringles.
Judge?

Din was an exact replica of last night’s meal.

-
bbq chicken + white beans on whole grains
-
salad with good junk
-
half a sweet tater
Tonight Hubz and I attended a community service meeting with the United Way that was a a flarking waste of time. *growl*
Hey. Why are people so stupid?
B/c I’m still operating on insufficient sleep (like you can’t tell), I went for an afternoon walk to clear my head. And I’d like to thank this SPIDER for jumping out of his tree hole (um, spiders live IN TREES?) to scare the shit out of me and totally ruin the calm of the walk. Stinking bastard.

For scale purposes, that is a BIG hole. And that spider is about the size of my head. Just sayin.
Some less frightful photos…

Lunch was a chef salad (all meaty items were local, humane, blah blah) with lf basalmic dressing + Dr. Krackers + a banana with that pecan butter.

I’m going to go punch myself in the face now until I pass out (and sleep).
*more growls*
Gr.
P.S.
This is the good stuff that keeps me going during the rough times…

Hungry hippo
That’s how I feel today.
Look.
Dessert that I’m eating RIGHT now. Optimum Slim cereal (oh the irony), PB puffins, spoonin some PB choco crack, dollop of white choco/raspberry fruit dip.

Din was comfort food but I managed to eat mostly salad and just 55g of that veggie spiral pasta with Dad’s sauce.

- veggie spiral pasta with Dad’s marinara
- spinach/green leaf lettuce salad, cukes, carrot, maters, cherries, goat cheese, homemade pesto croutons, lf rasp/walnut dressing
- water
To be honest, these veggie spirals aren’t so good. They’re cute. But the fiber content is paltry compared to whole wheat grains. Just pretty colored semolina, which is fine, but I prefer chewier, whole grain-type pastas. But the salad was insanely good. I shoulda just eaten that. But nope. This hungry hippo ignored her filling belly and kept on plowing thru the rest of dinner.
*whispers*
and dessert
Exercise was that crazy person Jillian. Yeah. I still hate her. Today I hated the chair sits and arm raises.
Hated.
Ugh. I’m just in such a mood tonight. I have to take the dog to my aunt’s house b/c she’s very kindly dog-sitting for us this weekend. And I’m just dreading leaving the dog. Her 1st time away from me. How crazy, right? Grrr…
My afternoon snack was half a blueberry OIKOS (good!) and half that almond butter ball you see down there. It’s not very good. It has a very fake chemical taste to it, which I don’t understand since it’s supposed to be natural and raw. Very weird. I won’t buy another one.

Oh hey, work is crazed. I can’t even remember my day, it flew by so fast. Balls. BALLS in the air.
Lunch was fun cuz I got to have the last scrapings of my creamy hazelnut butter on that snappy little apple.

On Mr. Stripey…
- 2 slices Applegate Farms ham + 1 slice American + lettuce + honey dijon
- organic carrot
- empire apple with creamy hazelnut butter scrapings
- 1 snickerdoodle from last week’s Auction/Bake Sale
Oh yeah, that’s right…these dudes are AMAZING. Meg did a fabulous job baking them. My coworker was the winning bidder for them, and brought some in to work today to share. Totally amazing.

Ok. Gotta get the dog in the car and up the road.
*cries* I’ll miss her.
<———crazy lady
Nite.
P.S. Here’s my “going out” camera. I have 2 cameras. This one’s pink. Cuz I’m a girl.
See…

In the kitchen
Oh what a Beautiful Morning, oh what a beautiful DAY!
It is hot (88+) today but oh so beautiful. Even though it made me sweat, I walked to the store to get a few items for a fruit dip I needed to make for tonight’s cookout at my brother-in-law’s. I was savoring the sun and warmth and then I stepped in gum. Stupid bullshit people that drop/spit their gum everywhere. I wish we had a law against that. Doesn’t Singapore have something like this? Arr. We are so NOT a walker-friendly country.
Anyway, lunch was something new today and it turned out well.
Curried salmon pasta salad…

- canned salmon mixed over cooked veggie pasta with carrot, sprouts, apples, walnuts topped with a dressing of curry powder, dijon, garlic, honey, lemon, plain greek nf yogurt
- whole grain crackas from TJs
This was a beautifully light summer dish. Excellent for hot weather.
I’ve been in the kitchen all day pretty much. Threw together this week’s crockpot meal (to make an appearance later this week). Then did dishes/put away dishes. Blah. I knew I wanted to use that canned salmon for lunch, so I was investigating various recipes for HOW, and spent some time throwing that mix together. Then the brother-in-law (BIL from now on) invited us down for a cookout, so I knew I’d want to prep some grill-friendly items I can eat (as opposed to grocery store meat items). So I made spicy black bean bison burgers, using half a can of black beans, SPICE, and leftover bison from last night. I can’t wait to have these babies on the grill!

Breks was excellent. I was in the mood for bagels w/cream cheese, but wanted a healthyish version. So I prepped a little cream cheese with basil pesto, gave it a swirl, and smeared some on a toasted whole grain mini bagel. Somehow 2 Applegate Farms chicken apple breakfast sausage made their way onto my plate too. Have I ever mentioned how much I love Applegate Farms!

Ok, I plan to go sit on the porch, enjoy a beer, and read my book before heading down to BIL’s house.
Peace.
