I Walk In This World

Healthy eats, often with a side of snark

These crazy kids

OMGosh, these kids on HGTV’s Property Virgin show.  They are so stupid.  Does anyone watch this show?  Ok.  When first-time homeowners are looking for a house, here are some tips…

  • paint colors don’t matter
  • cupboard style doesn’t matter
  • kitchen color doesn’t matter
  • if the lawn is mowed doesn’t matter
  • interior decor doesn’t matter

LOL.  No wonder this is a tv show.  And hey, where in this country can you buy a single family home for $152K???  Cuz I don’t believe it.

Just finished Din, which was Erin-solo-style cuz Hubz is politicking tonight.  Ginorm salad with chicken and oh so good and simple.

  • spinach/green leaf salad + chicken + Organic Valley cheddar + cashews + snow peas + carrot + maters + cukes + Goddess dressing
  • whole grain bread with Organic Valley sweet cream butter (from happy cows)
  • vino
  • 3 camera shy pieces of dark choco to round things out

I think this is the 1st time I feel stuffed from a salad!  So clearly it was a little too big.  But dang was it good.  The chicken was leftover from the bbq at Dad’s house Sunday.  Mmmm…

I did 2.5 miles at the gym today, and ew, look how flarking sweaty I am.  I guess I pushed hard!  Also did leg weights and crunches.

I napped (so not me) from 4-5pm, but it was kinda fun to zone in and out to Oprah and the ever-so-annoying Suze Orman.

Spent the arvo working on emails and blog stuff.  Lunch included a new product review…Musselman’s Red Raspberry & Acai Healthy Picks applesauce.

dsc_1134

It was very tasty with just the subtlest raspberry flava.  And the no sugar added made it taste very clean, just like applesauce should taste!  I think this would be great added in to oatmeal or oatmeal pancakes!  I do wish the raspberry would have been more powerful, so maybe Musselman’s can figure out a way to do that!  What’s cool is that Mussleman’s is a Grower owned co-op, around for the last 60 years.  And being a PA native, I totally support this co-op, as I grew up only 45 minutes from their apple orchards!

The rest of lunch…

dsc_1138

dsc_11371 dsc_1136

  • whole grain bread with leftover coconut pork + spinach + tomato
  • last remains of the fruit salad
  • Musselmans Red Raspberry Acai applesauce

And now it’s time to ice my shins and continue being judgey and snarky about these dumb Property Virgin kids.

Nite!

That salad looks awesome, it just sounds yummy!

Oh and an answer to your question: Those sausages are Johnsonville, and the fries are homemade.

You can totally do that in the suburbs of Buffalo- but then who wants to live there? (Other than my family of course lol). JK, I love the Ruff Buff

That applesauce sounds yummy, I like ‘hints’ of raspberry as opposed to pronounced raspberries (but then I’m weird like that).

Hope you have a great night!

I haven’t ever seen that show, and now it sounds like I dont WANT to!! BUT I do know that in our little chicago suburb, you can get a single family home, and a nice one at that for about $160k…

You can get a nice house where I live for around 80K. The cost of living here isn’t as high as some other states.

Kristan @ The Stepford Wife says:

Houston baby! We actually just looked at 3 houses today for under $100K. One of them was WELL under $100K.

Your salad looks divine! My body is craving salad like no other. I must listen and feed it.

    Liz (ready.to.lose.lbs) says:

I’m in the metro Atlanta area and there are plenty of nice houses here for less than $152. DBF’s family is from southern New Jersey, and when he told me housing prices up there I almost threw up.

And, I’m glad you got some sleep last night! It’s a wonderful thing, yes? Ambien worked like a charm for me too, and I woke up this morning feeling so much better! I can see how people could get hooked on it…..

Hmm.. we dont have that TV show here in Australia but it sounds like something I would grumble about too. I hate reality TV. It’s so annoying.

You loooook gorgeous! Despite being sweaty! Workout always make me cheery too :-)

Great chicken salad for dinner. All these greens can be very very filling.

Way to go with the run! I’m hopelessly addicted to House Hunters/Property Virgins. Now I’ve never had to shop for my own house yet but some of the stipulations people have are just ridiculous! That said, I saw an episode of HH where the couple toured a TRULY horrendous house - SO 80s I almost puked, pink carpet, metallic fixtures, white EVERYTHING else!

    inna says:

OMG i watched 2 episodes of property virgins yesterday and I cant believe these kids! The outside of a house was painted yellow and green and the girl didnt like that so she decided she hated the whole house! Um….you do know you can repaint the house when you buy it right?? Oh, how I love HGTV.

ahahaha! I love those shows because the people are so crazy! My husband and I poke fun and get snarky all the time. In fact we have a House Hunters Drinking Game! For HH though I miss Susanne Whang, where did she go? Now they have some voice-over chick doing it and she stinks.
