Today has not been so nice
I’ve just about had it with today.
Massively Annoying Item #1:
I spent ALL.morning.long trying to get a live person on the phone from IRS. We got a notice that we owed taxes. We do not. My taxes were paid on time and I have the canceled check to prove it. After 45 effffing.minutes I finally got someone live. This then took another 30mins to clear things up.
Massively Annoying Item #2:
I spent half of the afternoon on the phone with my insurance company giving my official statement about getting hit over a week ago.
Massively Annoying Item #3:
I had to spend 25 mins on the phone yelling at the auto body shop where my car is getting fixed. The car is supposed to be done today. By 3:30pm I still had heard nothing. So I call them. It’s not done. WHY does that always happen???
Massively Annoying Item #4:
I have a rental car I am paying for out of pocket so that I can get to work. The reservation ends tonight. So now I have to decide if:
1. I keep it another day at another $45 per day that I likely won’t get reimbursed.
2. Beg a coworker to take pity on me and drive 15mins out of the way to pick me up on the way to/from work.
3. Stay home and cry.
*punches everything in the face*

Lauren says:Aww too bad for such a bummer day! I’m sorry that all happened to you. Don’t worry, tomorrow will be better.
Yes, I would be drinking that wine from the bottle tonight if I were you. Sometimes, the glass of dinner wine goes beyond a nice accompaniment, it becomes a vital necessity.
Hope tomorrow is 1000x better!

Elizabeth says:On the positive - eats looked fab (as usual!)… and that wine? Definitely a bright spot! And even though you wasted massive amounts of time chatting with the IRS… it could be worse… you could ACTUALLY owe them money, right?
At least tomorrow’s bound to be better.

Marianne says:I’m sorry today was so sucktastic. Dealing with insurance companies for car accidents is ass. That’s why I ended up with a lawyer, because it wasn’t worth the mental anguish on top of my injuries. I say take the mental health day - we need ‘em every once in awhile!

Ashley says:Ugh, what a crappy day! But it can only get better, right??
I can’t believe you were kept on hold for THAT long. Is that normal? Wow - really unbelievable. Especially given that they stuffed up and you were fixing their mess. Soooo annoying!
Also, thanks for the travel tips! We should definately catch-up at some stage!!

K says:Love those Dr. Krackers! Ughhh that all sounds really annoying! I’ve heard if you keep pressing 0 you get a real person - haven’t tried it myself so take it with a grain of salt

brandi says:ugh, I hate doing stuff like that. I’m STILL dealing with insurance crap from my accident a month a half ago - never fun.
I hope today is better and less annoying - if it isn’t, I say go with the punching someone, then stay home

Danielle says:Car accidents are so stressful, I was in one almost a year ago now, and I actually lost some of my hair because of all the stress.
Dealing with the insurance compnay is no fun, but I promise once you get your car back you’ll feel so much better!

Kate says:That baked rotini looks fabulous! Almost as delicious as the wine. After the day you had, I would have probably guzzled the entire bottle.
Hope today is looking up for you, girl!

Amy@ What Do I Eat Now? says:your pics are beautiful!! the bright spot of the day i guess!!
i paid 900 bucks out of pocket for my rental car for a MONTH. that is like 3 times a normal car payment. when i found out the insurance company wasnt going to cover it, i cried foul… and foul… and foul… until they paid up half. but man that was a stressful time. i went another month without a car until i finally got my insurance claim paid and i got a new one. it was brutal.
I am lifting my coffee cup (which i wish had baileys and kalhua in it for you…) TO YOU!!!
