I Walk In This World

Healthy eats, often with a side of snark

*yawn, rubs eyes*

Hi guys.

Thanks for all your well-wishes last night.

Verdict?  I did sleep.  Yay!

But not enough.  And I could not get sleepy at bedtime even though I couldn’t keep my eyes open.  My dang brain was runnin a million miles an hour.

This is nothing new.  I’ve suffered insomnia since I was a wee lass.  I’ve tried natural supplements, Rx meds, exercise, no caffeine (horrid), sound machines, dark curtains, etc.

I’ve learned after 25+ years of suffering, there is little I can do to fight it.  I’ve tried it all.  The Ambien I have now actually helps a lot, surprisingly.  But I have to take it way before bed for it to kick in, and I still haven’t figured out the dosage that doesn’t make me a grogged mess in the morning.

The perk of all this?  Hubz feels so badly for me that he’s letting me have Hillary in the bed!  This is one our remnant doggy-rule No Nos.

Tee hee.

I knew I needed loads of protein for Breks to carry me thru the day, so I chunked together this stuff…

  • mini whole wheat bagel + fried eggwhites with peppers + onions + kale + mushies + BBQ tempeh + American cheese + HAWT sauce
  • Coffee (ready for cup #2 now)

Confession# 1.  I ate it in the car on the drive to work.

Confession #2.  I wanted to eat a second one.

Confession #3.  I’m kinda  today, so just bear with me.

Confession #4.  I just ate 3 mini Entemanns choco chip cookies.

That looks great for a chunked together Brek!

I am sure you have already tried it, but can’t help mentioning. What about melatonin? We have turned two long time insomniacs onto it (so cheap and easy to buy!) and they were amazed how well it worked.

    Glad you got some sleep!

I’m sorry about the insomnia!! I can’t believe you’ve tried everything in the book and still no improvement…..at least there’s ambien and coffee in your life!

Your breakfast looks and sounds delish, as always. Whenever i see your little fried eggs, hot sauce and mini bagel meal going on, I always want to go out and buy bagels and fry up some eggs ASAP! Too bad it’s almost 5 o clock and I had an omelet for lunch (with lots of HOT SAUCE! yay).
